Dreadnought Fears Nothing
Sci-fi fans are in for a treat with Dreadnought. One of the most anticipated games of the year, you’ll enter into the expanding universe commandeering your own battleship to keep the world you know and love safe from invaders.
Graphically, this game is a stunning masterpiece.
You’ll be partaking in one of the biggest battles the universe has ever seen, and it’s up to you to come out victorious.
The World of Dreadnought
We’ve heard hype about a lot of games in the past, especially in the sci-fi genre that simply didn’t come to fruition. For one reason or another, many of these games became flops that we would rather not play.
An impressive showing at Gamescom 2015 in Cologne, Germany gave gamers a lot of hope for Dreadnought. The game was playable by attendees, and they have nothing but good things to say about it.
EVE Online or Star Citizen Contender
Players that were lucky enough to test the game out for themselves were really impressed. A lot of comparisons were made that link the game to the likes of EVE Online and Star Citizen, which were two very highly rated sci-fi games as you know.
Is Dreadnought as good?
Some people are saying that it is even better than these titles. There have been a slew of reviews from third-party gaming sites and players that rave about the game. Angry Joe is one of those players that reviewed the game.
What Angry Joe Has to Say
The video posted by Angry Joe truly speaks for itself. Impeccable gameplay is shown throughout with stunning graphics and combat mechanics. Joe states that this is one of the best games to debut at PAX South.
Even in the comments, you’ll find a lot of comparisons with other games and a lot of people waiting to get their hands on Dreadnought.
Luckily, you can sign up for beta and test the game out for yourself.
Form a Team
Battles go on around the galaxy that allow you to form a team and fight in different combat scenarios. A form of PvP, you’ll be able to fight in an all-out death match, with ballistics firing from every angle trying to destroy their targets.
Team elimination matches also exist where you and your team will try to eliminate other teams to win the battle.
There is a lot of potential here for a gold or service seller. The developer has been quiet on the details of what extras will be added to the game, but one thing is for sure: you’ll be able to sell combat wins. Think of this in the same terms of boosting in WoW, but now you can do it with ships and all out warfare in space.
We wouldn’t be surprised if you’ll find gear and equipment to upgrade your ship along the way.
Ship and class customization is a great way to earn money. Ships will need to advance, and you’ll be able to sell this as a service, too. Classes include:
- Dreadnought: Able to take punishment, yet slow moving. This ship’s primary attacks are fired with ballistic cannons, while a gatling broadside is the primary ability of the ship.
- Destroyer: A fierce ship that is semi-fast and able to take a pounding. Dual repeaters are the primary weapon of the ship, offering good damage and accuracy, while the plasma raw will decimate energy ships.
- Corvette: Also featuring dual repeaters, this is a support ship that uses energy to move quickly and make quick getaways. The primary ability of this class is the medium cloak which cloaks your ship from enemy sight.
- Artillery Cruiser: Destructive yet the most vulnerable ship in the galaxy. The Heavy Tesla Cannon is slow to fire, yet offers high accuracy and immense damage. Rapid Fire is the main ability that allows you to shoot at fast rates, but doesn’t leave energy for the ship’s thrusters to function.
- Tactical Cruiser: The “healer” of the group. The Tactical Cruiser can easily be defeated due to their lack of defense, but their main ability, Medium Beam Turrets, are used to repair allies and can also deal damage.
What we do know is that you’ll be able to customize your ship, which opens up cosmetic enhancements that the developer hinted at. Different crew members will also add abilities and bonuses to your ship, so these may be another way to profit from the game.
The developers have stated that the game will be free to download and play, and that they’re still unsure of how they will price items.
There will undoubtedly be ways to gain enhancements and items in-game. While there isn’t a trading system in place, there may be one added in the future, but this is mere speculation at this point. Trading would open up the possibility to sell items and make a lot of money in the process.
Release is scheduled for 2016 with no definite date mentioned.
Cosmetic items will definitely be added to the game. Even if they’re purchased with real money, you’ll be able to sell them for a profit if they have limited availability – we hope. Rumors of co-op missions are going around, which would allow a service seller to help boost other players through missions for money.
The game is slated for just a PC release.
Dreadnought is still a really new game, so we don’t know what the best way to monetize the game will be at this point. We’re sure that there will be some form of monetization among the community with the addition of cosmetics, battles, various classes and ship upgrades. But no one knows for sure how they’ll be able to monetize the game just yet. It’s all truly dependent on the coming months and what the developers add in terms of functionality.
What do we recommend gold farmers do?
Sign up for beta and test the game out yourself. You’ll be able to test one of the best sci-fi games in a long time and start devising your plan on how to monetize the game.
